"Nada'south Gonna Modify My Dearest for Y'all" is a song written by composers Michael Masser and Gerry Goffin. It was originally recorded by American vocalist and guitarist George Benson for his studio album twenty/xx, released past Warner Bros. Records. Medeiros originally released the song on a small independent label at the age of xvi in 1986, afterwards winning a local radio talent contest at KIKI in his hometown of Honolulu. Jay Rock,[7] the program managing director and future producer of the song, convinced Medeiros to record it and make it his offset release, as Benson'south "The Greatest Love of All", another Michael Masser composition, had been a No. 1 hitting for Whitney Houston earlier that year. Guy Zapoleon, program director of KZZP in Phoenix was on holiday in Honolulu where his friend Jay Stone asked him to listen to the song on KIKI. Zapoleon loved the song and took the record back to Phoenix, where information technology debuted on KZZP in October 1986. By January 1987, the vocal hit No. 2 for 4 weeks, then through give-and-take of mouth to other programme directors, the airplay spread with other stations having summit five success with the vocal and past June 1987 the vocal had go a national hit.[ commendation needed ]
